Enrolment Policy

School Enrolment and Placement Policy Guidelines at Braybrook College, Year 7 for 2019

Over the last few years, Braybrook College has experienced unprecedented demand for Year 7 places. For example, for entry in Year 7 in 2018, over 300 applications for places were received, far in excess of the school’s capacity to accommodate.

As of 2017, living permanently in proximity to the College (designated neighbourhood school), as measured in a straight line from door to door, is the only guarantee of entry. Please be aware that if you present documents claiming residence at a particular address, the school and the Department of Education & Training (DET) may conduct checks to confirm this.

The college enrols students into Year 7 in accordance with the DET Placement Policy. Students are enrolled in the following priority order:

  1. Students for whom the school is the designated neighbourhood school.
  2. Students with a sibling at the same permanent address who is attending the school at the same time.
  3. Where the DET Regional Director has restricted the enrolment, students who reside nearest the school.
  4. Students seeking enrolment on specific curriculum grounds (NB This criterion applies to VCE programs)
  5. All other students in order of closeness of their home to the school.
  6. In exceptional circumstances, compassionate grounds.
