Drama is all about communication. The skills learnt in the Drama classroom are valuable and transferable to other subjects and all aspects of life.

Students study Drama for a semester in Years 7 and 8. Our junior program introduces students to a range of performance techniques. There is also Year 7 and 8 Drama Club for those interested in acting and further developing their skills.

Drama is an elective in Year 9 and 10. The Middle Years program is designed to further enhance the student’s knowledge and skills. Students are introduced to the work of theatre practitioners and styles that will prepare them for VCE Drama. Students attend live theatre performances and review the work they see.

Year 11 and 12 Drama focuses on the creation and performance of characters, narratives and stories. Students develop ensemble and solo performances which they present to a variety of audiences. Students attend Theatre performances and analyse the work of professionals, and they attend workshop at theatre companies such as the Melbourne Theatre Company.

The study of drama provides students with pathways to further studies in fields such as acting, direction, playwriting, production design, production management and studies in drama criticism.
